Higher Vocational Education Courses, HVECs, cover a wide range of vocational areas, but they have one goal in common, namely the provision of advanced vocational education, tailored to the needs of the labour market. In HVECs a modern approach is taken where theoretical learning is integrated and blended with vocational practice at the workplace.

Vocational practice at the workplace, also called internship, is at The Game Assembly 1/3 of the education. It is 30 weeks, 6 months, placed in the end of the education.

Our students apply for their own internship in the same way you apply for a job. The Game Assembly coaches each the student to write a cv, a personal letter and make a portfolio that will lead to a “vocational practice at the workplace”.

You need to have a fully equipped work place and you need to have a tutor/mentor for the student. The 6 months the student are at your company needs to be an developing experience for both you and the student.

Expectations
The Game Assembly expects a sound and well acceptance from the internship company. Our policy for the industrial placement is the following:

The student can expect:
That the company is responsible for all the practical arrangements in relation to the internship. This regards a workplace, hardware and software.

That the company is responsible for assigning a supervisor for the student who is responsible for the communication between the company and the student. This is also the person that the assigned personal from The Game Assembly will talk to during the “check-up”.

That the company is responsible for giving the student the supervision he or she needs during the industrial placement. The right supervision is the fundamentals for a good industrial placement.

In those cases the industrial placement is agreed by both parts to be performed on a distance the company is responsible for working out a plan in how the communication will be operated.

The company can expect:
That the student follows the rules of the company as anybody else at the workplace (that means following processes, routines, working hours and agreements).

That the student actively attends in the assigned project and communicates with his or her group members when it comes to problems, solutions, deadlines and so on.

That the student regards the seriousness when it comes to confidentiality when it comes to the project he or she is participates in.

If there is a economical compensation from the company to the student it is something it´s outside of this agreement.
