We found a report, Spelutbildarindex-2011, that shows academic game education statistics. The report is only in Swedish and the actual picture we found interesting only concerns univerities and colleges. The Game Assembly is a Advanced Vocational Education. You can read more about that at YH-myndighetens hompage.

Now first of all we don´t want to say bad things about the academy. There are room for all of us. Now when that´s is said. Let´s look at the picture.

The circles above are the statistics concerning the academy. The circle to the left is the one telling how many who applied for game educations, 2417. The seond circle tells us how many that got in, 1476. The third circle tells us how many who actually graduated, 441.

Statistics based on numbers from 2006-2010 says that the Swedish Game Industry hired 98 people. Well, I´m not sure that is the actual right number since the gaming industry has grown with all the mobile- and handheld games. But still 98 hired all in all, not only fresh baked students.

So if you look at the circles below. It´s The Game Assembly´s statistics from 2011. 192 students applied to The Game Assembly, 44 started, and 2011 38 students got their exam, that means they completed the education with all the YH-points they needed. 34 of them got a job in the game industry. Not only in Sweden but in Norway, Finland, England and Germany. Of those who got a job, 27 stayed in Sweden. So 27 of the 98 that got a job in Sweden in the game industry came from The Game Assembly.
