This year have been interesting. We went from “Kvalificerad Yrkeshögskola” to Yrkeshögskola. At the same time we also got the right to start our newest course at The Game Assembly – Leveldesign. We set out for an intense search for the right Level design teacher. And we found Martin Jonsson, a very, very good catch.

Our Class of 2008 left us in April, our first class taking their exam here at The Game Assembly. If you want to see were they all went just, check out this link.

Our Class of 2009 started their searh for internships. We are right now in the process of booking check up-meetings with them all. If you want to see were they all went just, check out this link

We had a Meet and Greet in April where all our students got introduced to the Swedish Game Industry. Of course we will have a new Meet and Greet this year in April and we have many companies who all ready said that they are coming. Our Class of 2010 are the ones heading out for their internship in August 2012. The spring time is always pretty intense since this class are making portfolios, the best games ever and look for internship companies at the same time.

In May the yearly Nordic Game Conference turned out to be a great success for Malmö and of course for our students. They worked hard as volonteers and got to show their newest games.

This year we had over 220 applicants to our three courses at The Game Assembly. Last day of application was in May and we interviewed about a 100 people and in August our new class of 2011 started, Game programmers, Game Artists and of course our first class of Level designers.

This year we wrote 2 new courses – Entrepreneurial Gamedesigner and Tech Artist – and sent them to YH-myndigheten. The 16th of January 2012 we know if we got the oppotunity to start them or not. We are keeping our fingers crossed. If the YH-myndigheten says yes, we will start these courses this fall. Keep updated on this homepage and on our Facebook page.

And as a present from Santa we are one of the finalists for the five Malmö Industry prices in the category Creative Industry. The 27th of February we will know at the festive Malmö Industry Gala.

But for now we want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. And for you who nearly got blind by my electric color choice… a merry christmas to you too. ;)
