1. What du you want to see in my portfolio?
Answer:
That depends on which course you are applying for, Game Art och Game programming. In both cases we want to see your latest and best work.

Game Art
For example drawings of models, hands, perspectives.
If you have worked in 3D, show us. If you haven’t show us what you got but it is important that you show us that your not afraid of learning different techniques, both digital and traditional.
Game Programming
It’s not necssary to send in a portfolio if you are applying for the Game Programmning course. But if you have any modifications or other small games you are welcome to share them with us.

2. What programs do you use at The Game Assembly?
Answer:
We use the programs the game industry use since we are educating people who are going to work there. We have among others programs from Autodesk and Microsoft but we try to keep track on others since the game industry is developing fast. If there is something new on the market we check with our network and see what they say. Advanced Vocational Educations and Training educates for the industry so we need to be updated.

3. How does you curriculum look like?
Answer:

4. Do I need to know programming before I apply for the Game Programming course?
Answer:
No, but it helps to have a hunch.

5. Do I need to know any 3Dprograms before I apply for the Game Art course?
Answer:
No, but it helps to have a hunch.

In the interviews we are looking for:
  • A will to cooperate since developing games is a serious team work.
  • Talent for the trade
  • Drive
  • Determination
  • Dedication
  • Accuracy
  • plus we want to be sure you will stay at The Game Assembly till the education ends.
  • It’s a good thing to be updated with the game industry…
  • ..and of course we want you to be focused.

6. I have been playing computor games all my life and now I want to apply to The Game Assembly. How do I get in?
Answer:
First of all…just because you enjoy playing games it’s not necessarily sure you will be good at making them. It’s hard and advanced work that demands accuracy, a will to cooperate and talent. We don’t want to kill your dream we just want to emphazsize the seriousness we put into the education.

7. Do I get a job in the Game Industry if I have attended The Game Assembly?
Answer:
That’s all up to you. If you work hard and have a talent for it you will get a job in the Game Industry. But just having attended The Game Assembly doesn’t mean you automatically get a job.
