Interviews and information meeting: * June 2012*

Together with your application you need to attach the following:
1. Personal letter: Attach a personal letter where you describe who you are and why you think you will become a good game artist/game programmer after you end your education at The Game Assembly. The personal letter is an important complement when we at The Game Assembly make the second selection among the applications. The letter is not supposed to be a repetition of your resumé (CV). The personal letter should give us a good understanding of you, your personality and your relation to games. Answer the following questions in the letter: a) What type of qualities should a good game artist/game programmer/level designer have? Describe with three adjectives and explain the meaning. b) If you get admitted at The Game Assembly where do you see yourself in three years?
2. A photo of yourself
3. Resumé/CV: Attach a resume/CV. The resumé should contain a clear view of what you have done since compulsory school (education, work etc.)
4. Grades from Upper secondary school (gymnasiet): Attach your grades from Upper secondary school or corresponding that prove the entrance requirements and the particular legitimacy for either the game art program (English B) or the game programmer program (Math C and English B).
5. Portfolio Game Art: For those who apply to the Game Art program at The Game Assembly needs to send in your portfolio. Your portfolio must be in a digital format. If you only have a portfolio made in a traditional way on paper or other material (for example drawings and paintings) you need to scan or photograph it. All material should be carefully and accurate signed with name and contact information. Your digital portfolio must be sent to us on a CD/DVD and all the pictures needs to be in formats that are common and easy for us to view. We can’t install new programs on our computers just to view a few pictures. Please understand that we hade hundreds of pictures to look at. We have tried to let some send in there portfolio via mail and via other ways but it is time consuming for us and messy since some applicants don’t name their work in a logical way. To be sure if your portfolio is easy to view let someone else look at it. If they have problems we sure will.
5. Portfolio Level Design: For those who apply to the Level Design program at The Game Assembly needs to send a portfolio that must contain the following:
1. A top down representation of a new level for your favorite game. Write a short description explaining the level.
2. Draw two new props for your favorite game. Write a short description explaining how they would be used within the game.
3. Screenshots of other stuff you’ve created (maps, mods etc).

ps. Make sure you wrap up the cd/dvd carefully. ds.
For you who apply for the game programming program it’s ok to send in a portfolio. We don´t guarantee that we look through them.
